Shoes-ing Carefully

(Haha shoes-ing, choosing, geddit?)

I love shoes. I work in a shoe shop and naturally, have amassed quite a collection over the past couple of years. Being a size 5/5.5/6 (yeah, it varies a lot) means that I can save money on lots of styles using one nifty little trick...

Thrifty Thursday - FREE BBQ Pulled Pork Lattice from Greggs + More

Firstly, I have to admit, it's difficult to find different thrifty tips tricks and deals each week, so Thrifty Thursdays may have to be a more 'as-and-when' thing, rather than a weekly thing. I hope you don't mind.

This week however, I have found something BRILLIANT for you - again, courtesy of my beloved 10 Ways.  How would you like a free BBQ Pulled Pork Lattice from Greggs?

Thrifty Thursday - Happy Camping

Hi Guys,

I have to admit, I struggled to find something thrifty to share with you this week, but I've found a great deal for anyone who, like me, will be camping at some point this summer. I originally found this deal via the 10 Ways Facebook Page

Thrifty Thursday - Kindle App

You've probably heard of e-readers like the Amazon Kindle before. You can download and store thousands of books to these portable devices and carry them around with you wherever you go. They also provide a great money-saving opportunity...

Thrifty Thursday - CosmeticsFairy

This week's Thrifty Thursday post comes in the form of a review. I discovered CosmeticsFairy.co.uk fairly recently, and was amazed at how cheaply they sold beauty products from well-known brands such as Urban Decay, Covergirl and Rodial

Thrifty Thursday - NUS/Unidays

If you're a student you've probably heard of NUS and/or UniDays before. If you're a college,sixth-form or university student, NUS and UniDays memberships entitle you to a discount at many major retailers. The standard student discount is usually about 10%, but there are sometime special, limited periods of time when you can get an increased discount.

Asos is currently offering a 25% student discount on full-priced items until 9am BST Friay 2nd May!

You could get Ray Bans for £73.50, a Cath Kidston bag for £6, or how about some New Balance trainers for £37.50?

Generally, it's a good idea to get an NUS card if you are eligible for one, as you can get discounts on everything from cinema tickets to groceries (have a look at all the discounts on offer here). They sometimes come as a free perk with Student bank Accounts, or you can get the for £12 from the NUS website. Either way, it will pay for itself as you take advantage of all the discounts on offer.

If you got an 'email for life' at university, ending in '.ac.uk' you can also take advantage of student-specific deals (more on that in another post).

Check out the Asos Website to find out more

What's the best student discount you've received?

Thrifty Thursday - Free Photo Prints

Hi Guys! This week I'm sharing a way you can re-vamp your room for free, whilst having a tangible record of your favourite memories - free photo prints.

My Instagram wall

Thrifty Thursday - Flubit

Hi guys, first of all, do you like the funky new 'Thrifty Thursday' graphic? Haha
This week I want to share with you a site that I think is really underrated -

Flubit.com

If you shop on Amazon a lot, this is a great one for you. Simply enter the url for any Amazon item you'd like to buy, specify the size/colour etc. if necessary, and the Flubit team will try to get you a better deal.
I have been using this website for a couple of years, and initially, you could post in links from any website and Flubit would get you a better deal. Back then, I used Flubit to buy a pair of Ray Ban wayfarers, a Michael Kors watch, perfumes, an Android tablet, and an ink cartridge for my printer - all for less than the cheapest prices I could find on other websites, and from sites like Kelkoo.

Thrifty Thursday - 10 Ways

Happy April! I hope you're enjoying the longer days and lovely weather. This week I'm sharing with you a Facebook page that has
REVOLUTIONISED. MY. LIFE:

Also known as the oh-so-catchy '10 ways to have more money as a student, without working.'
10 ways is aimed at anybody who wants to save money on everyday things, but is particularly helpful for students. They post tips, tricks and discounts multiple times per day, and you can sign up to receive emails from them as little or as often as you like.
What I really like about 10 ways is that as they're on Facebook, they really converse with the people who like their page, and they also update very quickly and often, so you have a decent change of taking advantage of short-lived offers and glitches.

I've bagged so many bargains thanks to 10 Ways' notifications; my Asics Gel Pursuits (which I'll be running the Bristol 10k in) for less than £30, a T-Mobile phone contract which was priced at £0 due to a glitch, a £20 Tesco voucher with a £1 Sun+ subscription, a Seventeen make up set worth £30 free with a £1 3-month subscription to Glamour magazine, Red Spotted Hanky Train Vouchers and much more. I also am now armed with knowledge of insider  tricks like this "Tosco" one ;).

I would definitely recommend liking the 10 Ways Facebook Page and signing up to their emails. While you're over there don't forget to like the I Walk in Fashion Facebook Page too! What discount websites or pages do you like using?

Thrifty Thursday - AllBeauty

I have always been the type to shop around before I buy something. Now that I'm a student, it's even more important for me to make sure I'm getting a good deal. I've decided that each week I'm going to try and share some tips and tricks that will hopefully save you a few pennies too. This week I'm sharing one of my favourite cosmetics websites - allbeauty.com
Thrifty Thursday

Allbeauty..com (formerly cheapsmells.com) sells thousands of products from well known brands, at well under the RRP. I have bought perfumes from them a few times, one of my favourites being Fantasy by Britney Spears. Smaller volumes of Fantasy can cost £20+ elsewhere, but I bought a 100ml Eau De Parfum and Body Souffle gift set from allbeauty for around £21 a few months back. It is unfortunately no longer available, but The 100ml fragarance alone is still under £20, and there is a 100ml Hidden Fantasy gift set currently going for £13.95 - bargain!
As well as perfumes, you can get many other items - foundations, fake tan, lip balms, nail polishes and hair products - all for amazing prices.
They currently have the Real techniques Starter Set for just £14.25, which I have my eye on...

Have you shopped with allbeauty before? What's your favourite budget beauty site?

Just a note - post is in no way affiliated with allbeauty, I just think the website is great and thought you would too! x

*UPDATE* Allbeauty have now started charging £1.50 for delivery of orders under £15. Delivery for orders over £15 is free.
